Rush Theta Chi. Fall 2026.

The first two nights are before classes start. Instruction begins Thursday, September 24, and rush runs through bid day on Sunday the 27th.
Every chapter event is at our house, 663 Gayley Avenue.
Becoming a member of Theta Chi is a lifelong commitment. The rush process is designed to help potential new members decide if a particular fraternity is for them, and to help fraternities determine if a potential new member is able to uphold their values.
UCLA IFC runs registration for formal fall recruitment, and you register with them rather than with us. Their fee was $25 at the time of writing and rises to $35 on September 12. Check the IFC site for the current figure. Register at the UCLA Interfraternity Council. IFC rush orientation is on Sunday, September 20.
Before you come
None of this depends on the schedule.
- You do not need an invitation, and you do not need to know anybody here.
- Wear what you would wear to class.
- Every event is at the house, 663 Gayley Avenue.
- The food is free, and there is a lot of it.
- Visit as many houses as you can. Most people do, and we would rather you picked us on purpose.
- A bid is an invitation to join. Bids can go out on any day, usually starting the second.
- You can stop coming at any point, and you do not owe anyone an explanation.

Alcohol
Alcohol, and how our events run
The house is not dry. Saying that it was would be easier, and it would not be true, so here is how events actually run.
- Rush is dry. Every recruitment event, with no exceptions.
- No hard alcohol. Beer and wine only.
- Sober brothers are on duty at any event where there is alcohol. They are named before the night starts, and running the night safely is their job.
- Events are registered in advance and run on a guest list, not an open door.
Rush itself is dry, with no exceptions, so the part you will see first has no alcohol at it. The rest is what you would be joining. If any of it stops being true, this section should change.
Schedule
Our night-by-night times go up here as soon as the chapter sets them. The week itself is fixed: come by any evening between Tuesday the 22nd and Sunday the 27th and there will be brothers at the house.

Due when you start the pledge process, not before. Nothing is owed for turning up to rush, and nothing is owed if you decide this is not for you.
This is the chapter bill. Rent, if you live in the house, is separate.
Power, water and internet are inside that figure, not a separate bill arriving on top of it.
What that does not cover is food. The chapter has not published a meal plan figure for Fall 2026, so budget meals separately and ask one of the rush chairs what the house currently runs. We would rather say that than let you find out in September.
Living in comes with house jobs. They are assigned for the term and done weekly: kitchen, bathrooms, trash, common rooms, the work that keeps thirty-odd people in one building. That work is where house points come from, and house points are how rooms get assigned. It is the difference between a fraternity house and an apartment with your friends in it.
Rooms are assigned on house points, not on seniority and not on what you can pay. House points are what you put into the chapter: showing up, taking a job and doing it, and the work nobody volunteers for.
If the number is the thing standing in your way, say so early and say so to us. It is a normal conversation and it is not held against you.
Theta Chi's national Foundation Chapter awards scholarships to brothers on academic performance, service, leadership, financial need and career goals. The two endowed programs are the Blue Memorial Scholarships, open to undergraduates and graduates, and the Simon Memorial Scholarships, for engineering majors. Awards have historically ranged from a few hundred dollars to several thousand per recipient; the Foundation publishes the current figures and deadlines with the application.
